The European family of maille weaves consists of such weaves as 4-in-1, 6-in-1, Box (or Queen’s) chain, and parallel or “Helm” chain. When people talk about chain maille armor they are usually talking about European 4-in-1, which is the most common weave known because of it’s use in creating medieval armor.
