CUSTOM Byzantine “Remembrance” Necklace

I crafted this custom piece in 2013 for my brother, who is a former US Army Staff Sergeant and an Iraq War veteran. The center piece of this necklace is part of a K.I.A. bracelet that was given to my brother after his friend, SPC Jesse Buryj, was killed in the line of duty while serving in our country’s Armed Forces, overseas in Iraq. My brother brought the bracelet to me and requested that I turn it into a necklace that he could wear. I carefully cut the bracelet and drilled it to fit it into the necklace. The necklace itself is crafted from a combination of green and yellow anodized aluminum (Military Police Corps colors) and finished with a lobster clasp.
