Scale Maille Purse

This beautiful scale maille purse was crafted using a combination of stainless steel rings and silvery-gold, gold, bronze, orange, red, and black anodized aluminum scales.

Each side of the purse contains approximately 350 scales that are held in place by multiple steel rings. The two scale maille sheets are woven together using the European 4:1 weave, at the sides and bottom as well. It is finished at the top with 2 thick leather straps with grommets on each side for attaching the purse strap.

The shoulder strap is made from 16 gauge stainless steel rings in the European 4:1 weave, and measures 36 inches in length. It is attached to the purse using 2- hinged lock rings, that slip through the grommets on the leather straps. This allows the strap to be taken off and used as a belt, making the purse a clutch purse/hand bag. The purse itself measures 8 inches across by roughly 7 inches deep.
