“Speckled Egg” Sponge Anodized Titanium Scales

Add some color to your scale maille with these dazzling sponge anodized titanium scales! Each scale is anodized individually, using a combination of sponge and dip anodizing, so no two scales look alike. The scales are sponge anodized with spots of blue and bronze. The scales are sponged on both sides, and then they are dipped into an anodizing bath at a low voltage to fill the remaining voids, creating a dazzling blend of vibrant colors. These scales are very challenging to anodize and as a result, there will be variations in colors from scale to scale, and from batch to batch. This is the nature and beauty of these scales and should not be seen as a defect.

Please note that the color on these scales is affected by oils. If after handling, the color on the scales looks lighter or faded, simply wash it in hot soapy water and allow it to air dry. The anodized layer does not penetrate the metal and can be scratched by hard surfaces, revealing the raw metal beneath. Care should be taken to preserve the quality of your scales.

These scales are anodized individually, in small batches, So the color will vary from scale-to-scale, and batch-to-batch. The number of “packs available” is what I have in stock. These numbers are updated with each order. Once a size sells out it will be listed as “Temporarily Unavailable”, until said size is restocked. Based on my current production volume, I am usually able to ship these within 2-3 business days. However this can change, without notice, based on volume of sales and material shipping times. For this reason, I ask that you please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery. Please make note of this when purchasing. Purchasers will be emailed with a tracking number once their order has been shipped.
